Can your man make or break your business?

Over the years I have witnessed how husbands can make or break
their wives businesses. Most often they want their wives to quit their business
because their business isn't making enough money or it takes
too much time from them or the family.
On a bell curve they either want dinner on the table when they come home or
they remember the movie with Tom Cruise called “Jerry McGuire”
and shout the question “Show me the Money!”

So how are you balancing your time and your money?
Most of the men never see the cash flow from the business because in many cases the their wives, the jewelers, pay the bills.
They only experience, what they visualize and that is how often you are home.
This is why/how they become “Not On Board”!
Here is a HUGE tip how to overcome that pressure and those tuff manly mindsets:
“Show him the Money!” and if you can’t,
begin and prepare for that day! It will be time very well spent!

Begin by determining your average income and allocate that specific amount towards some significant monthly cost or monthly payment:
For example; the mortgage, a car payment, an auto insurance payment, dance or sport club costs for your children, or savings for a vacation, etc., etc.
For most men, if you can EQUATE YOUR EARNINGS to a
PRACTICLE COST ALLOCATION and then tell him what that is,
he will be “All In” and ”On Board”!
Occasionally show him your Profit/Loss statement from the House & Hood program.
Or subtract the “Due to Premier” amounts from your web site orders from the total dollar receivables from your home shows.*** (see small print below)

Secondly, If you are not showing profit, where is the money going?
This issue comes down to: Is it ok for you to spend the money on yourself?
Which can be ok, but have you talked with him about it?
Is he ok watching the kids while your at a home show, forgoing dinner, not seeing you, or other hardships while you make money for yourself.
Some men are ok with this and some men become impatient with this,
that depends on your relationship with him.
Also if he hunts or fishes, and this is your thing, communicate that to him.
This is a family business and you both deserve respectful consideration.
That comes down to effective husband and wife communication.
I hope this helps squelch that occasional manly pressure.
***You should also subtract something for your gas and any show supplies or give-aways from your home shows.

Independence plus experience equals growth and confidence!

As a husband of a Premier Designs Jeweler,
I am always outside looking in. Often I am jealous you.
You get to be a independent business person and I don’t : )
But there is one thing I do see from the outside looking in
and that’s you becoming an independent business woman.
When you go out in the world and perform your business activities,
you might think of the reasons your doing it are for
fun and fashion or to make money or both. I wonder if you
ever consider the intangible gains of your Premier experiences.
By this I mean your ‘Independence’. In this context, I mean not dependant
on anything, anyone or any company for your lively-hood.
When you go out and into the world to do this business
you build it all by your self.
You grow your own business through your own experiences.
I see things in Jean that weren’t there before.
They are creative thinking, strength and maturity.
Through your business experiences you will gain power and confidence.
People will see this and become attracted to it.
Your customers will buy more and you will sponsor more.
Your business will mirror your personal growth. So go get that grit!

One last thing; don’t show your disappointment after someone turns
you down for a home show or one on one.
Tell them your off “to give away more jewelry for free” or
“To meet the next person who’s wants to be an independent jeweler”.
They will think twice and feel like they missed out
on some free jewelry or a great business opportunity!
And that will prepare them for when the next time you see them! : )

Guys can grow the busness too!

To the Men of Premier.

If you want to play a part in your wife’s success and
growth of her business.
Set a goal to help her sponsor 2 or 3 per year!
It would be huge for her growth!!

I’ve got 3 things for you to do on a monthly basis.
Talk about her business to other men or women you know
in your daily activities.
Talk enthusiastically about these 3 things to people.

1.     Tell them you have found Premier to pay better
than other direct sales companies.

2. Tell them they support and train their jewelers very well. And they do what they say they are going to do.

3. Tell them they have a solid business philosophy.

I would recommend to you to have your wife order the book:
“By Chance or by Design” from the home office.
It was written by the Founder of Premier Designs, Andy Horner, You will learn the difference of Premier and become knowledgeable about the company.

Anytime you talk from the heart with knowledge
people will listen and follow you!

How many of us take our De-Motivation seriously.

Last month I used the analogy of an engine.
The opposite goes for De-Motivators as it does for Motivators. Our old oil sludge that makes our engines run rough or left long enough unchanged will stop our engine from running properly.
So protect your engine and change that oil!

Here are the crucial questions.

Do I call my up-line when I feel discouraged or excited?
Do I call my up-line when have a bad experience that I cant fend off?
Do I go to the rallies to prevent my de-motivation!

There is nothing more important in our businesses (or our lives) than the choices we make to ward off the de-motivators.

So here are my top 4 tips for protection from the de-motivators.

No 1: Go to trainings and rallies!

No 2: Read books about successful people to learn how they overcame their de-motivators.
(In Premier we can also call our upline)

No: 3 Decide who is your support “Dream Team”

No 4: Call your support “Dream Team” when you are in trouble.

So when you have a couple of poor experiences back to back,
you won’t be discouraged and give in to impatience or anger?
Call your support “Dream Team”

Have a great month!

Don't Give Up, Look Up!

“What to do if you don’t know what to do.”

On a Premier Cruise in March of 2010 Jean and I were having
dinner with Andy and Joan Horner at one of the
formal restaurants at the back of the cruise ship.

During the dinner Andy explained that
many jewelers make hasty decisions to change the status quo.
Many jewelers will get out of Premier before God
has a chance to help them get their dreams and goals.

Andy said, “When times are tough or you are impatient about something and you
don't know what to do, don’t “give up” just “look up!

He went on to elaborate..
“If you don’t know what to do, “Look up” to God (pray and wait).
You've worked hard so now let God work for you. So give Him the respect and the time to solve the problem or impasse for you.
But that doesn't mean stop working.

If you (or your jewelers) are at a point in your (their) business where
nothing is happening and you (they) are working hard, remind yourself (them) to keep on working and to “Look Up!”

“If we keep our eyes on our purpose, all else has its place”.

There are great books that convey how important is to have a dream and a purpose. These two intangibles are our gas and oil for our engine (motivation) to our future. I think we would all agree we’re not going anywhere without engine sustaining elements.

How many of us make our motivation choices consciously.
Let’s ask ourselves these questions.

Could I do this business besides for the money?
Could I find passion for my business through a purpose?
Do I have fun future planned for myself (and my husband)?
Do I go to the rallies to gain knowledge, excitement and motivation and to meet new people and learn their motivations?

I believe there is nothing more important in our businesses (or our lives) than the choices we make to enhance or maintain our motivation. In the long run if you believe in something greater than just the monetary returns you enjoy a better life and find success sooner. So here it goes, my top 3 success elements;

No 1: Design a dream and a purpose and you will thrive,

No 2: By reading books about successful people
we learn their success stories, testimonies and motivations. From this we learn how to succeed because we come to understand all successful people have overcome hardships along the way.
(In Premier we call our upline)

No 3: Keep our prioirtes God, Family & Career.

Jean’s purpose is to bring women a business opportunity
for them to:

1.) stay a home with the kids
and/or
2.) grow personally with their business and build a better life.

Our dreams are redeveloping due to achieving 3 levels of them already. But that's for another day.

For Jean everything falls in place and hardships are reduced because she is;

"keeping her eyes on her purpose, so all else finds its place”.

A Premier Designed Business!

Our business is Premier Designed, otherwise smartly designed.

Premier is SMARTLY designed for our success by eliminating
 a Brick and Mortar store.
It’s design eliminates large amounts of overhead, increases our personal tax deductions
and significantly raises our profit margin!
Typical brick and mortar retail jewelry store has a profit margin of 5.9%
Premier Designs, our Founder Andy Horner's company, has a reasonable goal for profit of  5%.  Your business has a profit margin of 50% (less expenses, catalogs and mileage)
In a little bit I will show you how to offset those business expenses by 100%

Premier’s retail is designed smartly because it is an attractive product and is combined with low production costs with a relatively high mark up.
Therefore the retail profitability is strong.

A $400 Home Show= $200 earnings offsets a rise in living costs for the month. Gas, etc.
A $400 Home Show= $200 earnings offsets a rise in monthly health care premiums.
  A $800 Home Show= $400 pays for a car payment, etc.

Sponsoring to Desinger is smart to offset costs and raise your earnings.
Example of Designer, 7 jewelers makes you $225 per mo - a conservative number and with 7 jewelers you offset retail operating costs by 100% for the month.
Designer is a gift to yourself. It’s achievement, credibility, status and it’s a gift back to your sponsor.
Sponsoring gives to others the same values you enjoy in Premier
Why deny others the same values you keep with Premier (so share with everyone you can)
Even those of you who don’t need the money or who have many friends, I encourage you to take on a purpose in your life and give to others who do need those things by sponsoring them.

Sponsoring gives you opportunity for personal & financial growth and the
ability to literally build dreams. What if your sponsor had not sponsored you.

It’s Smart to support you! I mean your Father, mother, husband, sisters, brothers and friends.
You value your business for a very important set of reasons and we all hope we will get   support from everyone we know.
We know that if they did support us it would enrich their relation ship with us.
What can you do when they don’t support you? Two things.
Ask for their support thru prayer… the very hard things become reality thru God.
1Jn 3:22  And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.
1Jn 5:14  And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:

Secondly…look to those that do support you (and shoot for the stars)!!!

Why it’s smart to support your wife:
We as guys all share a common role and that is to protect our families or what our families value as important.
Your wife has found something valuable with Premier.
Maybe she wants to meet new friends or enjoy the fashion and make extra money or maybe she has always had a dream.

Last week I called 4 jewelers and I asked them:
What do you need from your husband to do this business?
This is what they said:

“I like that he does not give me a hard time about watching the kids when I go to a home show”
“I bounce Ideas off him”
“He rides the roller coaster with me lovingly”
“That he will be there along the way with me”
“He makes me feel like he is in business with me"
The one common thread was, the wives needed the intellectual and emotional support from their husband
(if they had children it was important the men cared for them when she was at a home show).

As a Premier husband, It’s my prayer for you to enjoy a loving partnership with your wife in this business.

As guys we have a great opportunity to enhance our marriage with a Premier business in the family and
that’s why I think it's smart to support your wife.
